Headaches are often seen as just a woman’s problem. It’s true, men aren’t affected as often as women, but that doesn’t mean that men can’t suffer from merely annoying to downright debilitating headaches.  Most men get the occasional moderately annoying headache that can be quickly dealt with by rest or an OTC agent such as tylenol or ibuprofen.  However, if your headaches have become increasingly debilitating and interfering with your daily life, it’s time to get help. Your friends and family rely on you to take care of yourself so that you can enjoy your time with them. Don’t let constant headaches get in the way of your relationships, work, and life.

The sooner you seek help for your headaches, the faster you can get back to normal. Simply ignoring your headaches will not make them go away. A headache cure is just a call away at the Men’s Vitality Center.

Sometimes it’s more than just a headache.

Migraines affect millions of Americans every year and have been rated by the World Health Organization as one of the top 20 disabling lifetime conditions. Migraines cost us billions of dollars in missed work days and doctor visits. Despite the seriousness of migraines, it often remains as an invisible condition with the sufferer living in isolation as they are not taken seriously. People who have migraines are even considered to have a lower quality of life than those with asthma. When migraines are decreasing your quality of life, you aren’t the only one feeling those effects. Facing your migraines and taking the appropriate steps to get migraine relief is taking a step in the right direction for you and everyone around you.

What’s to blame?

There are certain types of headaches that are caused by specific things, such as sinus headaches caused by sinus pressure or sinus infection. Sometimes it’s not quite so easy to determine what’s causing your headache though. You’ll be surprised at some of these triggers.

Your weight can certainly trigger your headaches. Those with higher BMIs or obesity have a much greater risk of migraines and headaches.

Your lifestyle or personality can also make you more susceptible to headaches and migraines. If you’re someone who is more rigid and stresses over the little things, it may be time to speak to someone about relaxation techniques.

Weekends or changing your routine. Migraines or headaches can happen when you take a break from your routine. Ease into the change of routine by trying to stick to your sleeping schedule as much as possible. You’ll feel better and more rested if you get up at the same time rather than sleeping until noon.

You may be dehydrated. While you don’t have to drink gallons of water to stay hydrated, all that coffee and soda won’t help either. If you’re not a fan of water, you can get water from fruits and vegetables. Then, you’re also getting all of the other good stuff from fruits and veggies, too!
